Borrowing KSh 1,000 from the Hustler Fund for 14 days costs KSh 3.07 in interest.
How Hustler Fund costs work
Hustler Fund personal loans carry one of the lowest interest rates available in Kenya: 8% per year, pro-rated daily, for the standard 14-day term. Every loan also has a mandatory 5% savings deduction taken off the top, so the amount that lands in your mobile wallet is slightly less than what you borrowed.
That 5% savings deduction isn't lost. Thirty percent goes into a short-term savings account you can eventually access, and seventy percent goes into a long-term, pension-style account. If you don't repay within 14 days, the interest rate on the outstanding balance rises to 9.5% per year.

Frequently asked questions
What's the Hustler Fund interest rate?
Hustler Fund personal loans charge 8% per year, calculated daily, for the standard 14-day term. If you fail to repay within 14 days, the rate rises to 9.5% per year on the outstanding amount.

The short-term portion (30% of your savings deduction) becomes accessible after 365 days from disbursement, or earlier if you default. The long-term pension portion is accessible upon reaching the qualifying retirement age.
