Using KSh 1,500 of Fuliza for 5 days costs about KSh 123.00 in fees.
How Fuliza charges work
Every time you use Fuliza, you're charged a one-off access fee of 1% of the amount borrowed. On top of that, a daily maintenance fee applies for each day the balance is outstanding, charged from midnight, with a 20% excise duty added to that daily fee.
If you borrow KSh 1,000 or less and repay within three days, the daily maintenance fee is waived entirely, so your only cost is the 1% access fee. Beyond three days, or above that threshold, the daily fee kicks in and accumulates for every day the balance remains unpaid, which is why clearing a Fuliza balance quickly matters.

Frequently asked questions
Is Fuliza free if I repay quickly?
For balances of KSh 1,000 or less, the daily maintenance fee is waived for the first three days. The one-off 1% access fee still applies regardless of how quickly you repay.
Why is there a 20% excise duty on Fuliza?
Kenya charges excise duty on the fees charged for mobile money-linked credit facilities. This is applied on top of the daily maintenance fee itself, not on the amount you borrowed.
Does the daily fee increase the longer I hold a Fuliza balance?
The daily fee rate itself doesn't change over time; it's a flat amount determined by which band your outstanding balance falls into. What increases is the total, since you're charged that flat daily fee for every day the balance remains unpaid.
